On 14th of April, the first virtual CEMA Summit took place. An insightful day where agricultural machinery business leaders, high-level policy makers, EU farmers, agri stakeholders, journalists and researchers got virtually together to exchange on crucial issues and challenges for the ag machinery industry and the agri-food sector as a whole.
In its premiere as an online event, the CEMA Summit counted 30 speakers through 5 interactive panel discussions. The event put a big focus on making live interactions possible with attendees through polls, chat conversations and Twitter wall. The virtual exhibition featuring latest trends within the agricultural machinery industry added the cherry on top of the cake.
The contributions of Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Agricultural Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski were key moments of this day, who saw over 300 people following live. Our guest speakers and representatives from COPA-COGECA, John Deere, Fertilizers Europe, Crop Life Europe, Agri Committee Members of the European Parliament, New Holland Agriculture, CEJA, Pulverizadores Fede and the disruptive thoughts from JEDI enabled lively panel discussions lifting the “online” barriers. The CAP, the ambitious targets set in the Farm to Fork Strategy and the need for investment support on farm technologies were the topics on the focus along the day.
The afternoon sessions, Economic Forum and Technical Forum complemented the plenary meeting bringing in-depth insights and featuring experts from different fields and backgrounds to discuss about:

- Sustainable farming: achievements & challenges for advanced farm technologies - Technical forum
