The delegation, which included CEMA’s Secretary General Jérôme Bandry, handed over to the Industry4Europe newest Joint Paper on A Governance Structure for an ambitious EU Industrial Strategy, as well the Joint Paper on “Setting indicators for an ambitious EU Industrial Strategy”.

An informal meeting of Competitiveness, Economy and Industry Ministers was held in Vienna a few days later under the motto “Rethinking European Industry”; the results of this meeting will provide the basis for a Presidency Paper on the future vision for a new industrial policy. The press release circulated after the meeting confirmed that the Austrian Presidency is “planning concrete progress at EU level, such as proposals for a monitoring mechanism for the implementation of European industrial policy as well as for effective governance structures. The objective is to develop a long-term (post-2030) vision for a strong and successful joint industrial policy as a legacy for the future EU Commission”.
