WGAT stands for ‘working Group - Agricultural Tractors’.
This informal but permanent Working Group exists since 1974 and is devoted to discussions between all stakeholders from governments, industry and consumer' associations interested in the preparation of review of regulatory issues. The main task is to assist the Commission in the preparation of legislation or in policy definition.
CEMA is accepted as main industry stakeholder for the agricultural machinery manufacturers.
It is organised under the European Commission directorate General Enterprise and Industry, unit automotive.
Until 2005 there was a subgroup under the WGAT called WGAT-WS (Work Safety).
