Following the first event in Rome in 2008 delegations of the agricultural equipment industry associations of 14 countries worldwide gathered in Orlando Florida in January 2010. The participants, also including representatives of the United Nations organizations FAO and UNIDO, discussed market developments and trends for agricultural equipment in the different regions of the world. On the first day of the event, hosted by the American sister association AEM at the occasion of their new exhibition AG Connect Expo, reports were given about North-America, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, China, Russia and Europe. Europe was represented by a delegation from CEMA led by CEMA Vice-President Massimo Goldoni and included also representatives from Italy, Germany and France. In addition to these regional presentations UNIDO presented the results of a study on the global trends and evolution of the agricultural machinery sector. On the second day the participants discussed possibilities for a better global common approach to common topics and a future close co-operation of the industry with FAO and UNIDO. Also in a workshop of association experts led by VDMA the first steps for an exchange of global data about the industry was discussed, As a result it was agreed to launch a semi-annual survey following the sample of the CEMA Business Barometer.
